Inspired by the request made by the president of South Korea during a visit to Austria, for prayers for a peaceful reunification of Korea, the World Apostolate of Fatima of the diocese of Würzburg, in Germany  is promoting a Fatima prayer event for May 13^th, 2022 both in South Korea as well as in Germany, with the intention to pray for peace in Korea, in Ukraine and in the whole world.

During his visit of state to Austria, in 2021, former President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, also visited the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, where he stated that faith is the basis of his political action. He asked, above all, for prayers for the reconciliation and peaceful reunification of the peninsula of Korea. The month of May is traditionally the month of Mary, in the Catholic Church.For centuries, is has been common to organize special devotions for Our Lady in May. The daily recitation of the Rosary, the decoration of altars with a statue or picture of Mary, the crowning of the statue of Mary with beautiful blossoms, the visits to Marian shrines, among others.

As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, this May 13^th, we come to invite you to promote among children and youngsters, on this day, a special prayer day for peace in Ukraine, in families and the whole world, entrusting our children to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A replica of the Chapel of the Apparitions of Fatima was built in the Philippines. The dedication and blessing of this chapel is on April 4, 2022, the anniversary of the departure to heaven of St. Francisco Marto, one of the seers of Fatima. The initiative comes from the World Apostolate of Fatima in the Philippines and is endorsed by the archdiocese of Cebu. The Chapel is located in the municipality of San Remigio and it is the first construction of its kind, in the country and throughout Asia.

The Vatican Press office informed that Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, on March 25, in St. Peter’s Basilica, during the Celebration of Penance that he will preside over at 5:00 pm (Rome time).
