The International President of the World Apostolate of Fatima, Prof. Américo López-Ortiz, has written a circular letter to all the leaders and members of the Apostolate of Fatima concerning the terrible invasion and attack of Russia to Ukraine. 

In his letterhe underlines that such “critical situation must be confronted with the spiritual weapons we have to overcome evil” and that our movement has the duty “to illuminate the hearts of the faithful with the light of hope in the definitive triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary promised in Fatima.” He also wrote to the Holy Father proposing the renewal of the consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and, at the same time,

The World Apostolate of Fatima, through its Secretariat, is inviting its members to join an international online prayer meeting, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 12h30 (Lisbon time) to pray the Holy Rosary for the intentions of the Apostolate and for peace in the world, particularly in Ukraine.

This event will be conducted by the Secretariat of the Apostolate, from Fatima, through the Zoom online platform (https://zoom.us). The prayer meeting is open to all members of the World Apostolate of Fatima around the world, to pray together the Rosary, following Our Lady’s request in Fatima: “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of the war”.

On the 20th of February, the Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Francisco and Saint Jacinta Marto, the two little children of Fatima, canonized in year 2017. 

The World Apostolate of Fatima takes this date, as a special occasion, to celebrate the sanctity of these two little shepherds and to promote their spirituality. In Fatima and around the world, the Church will make memory of these two children saints, to learn from them the virtue of humility, prayer and self-offering to God. 

On January 28, Pope Francis appointed Bishop José Ornelas, as the new bishop of the diocese of Leiria-Fátima, succeeding Cardinal António Marto.

The new bishop of Fatima is a member of the missionary congregation of the Dehonians - Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He is 68 years old and has been in charge of the diocese of Setúbal, in Portugal, since 2015. Besides, he is also the President of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference.

Cardinal Antonio Marto had presented his resignation to the Holy Father when he turned 74, last May 2021, because of his age and “aware of the enormous limits of his physical and psychological forces to properly exercise the office, in view of the pastoral demands of the Diocese and of the Shrine of Fatima” he said.

The month of October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. The World Apostolate of Fatima, through its Secretariat, is inviting its members to join an international online prayer meeting, on Friday, October 8^th, 2021, at 12h30 (Lisbon time) to pray the Holy Rosary for the intentions of the Apostolate and for peace in the world.

This event will be conducted by the Secretariat of the Apostolate, from Fatima, through the Zoom online platform (https://zoom.us). The prayer meeting is open to all members of the World Apostolate of Fatima around the world, to pray together the Rosary, following Our Lady’s request in Fatima: “Pray the Rosary daily”.
