January 25, 2023: Online Rosary for Peace

Icon Our Lady of FatimaThe World Apostolate of Fatima, through its Secretariat, is inviting its members and friends to join an international online prayer meeting, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 12h00 (Lisbon time) to pray the Holy Rosary for the intentions of the Apostolate and for peace in the world, particularly in Ukraine.

This event will be conducted by the Secretariat of the Apostolate, from Fatima, through the Zoom online platform (https://zoom.us). The prayer meeting is open to all members of the World Apostolate of Fatima around the world and its friends, to pray together the Rosary, following Our Lady’s request in Fatima: “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of the war”.

New International Board of Directors

The World Apostolate of Fatima held its international General Assembly in Fatima, Portugal, from October 24 to 28, 2022. The event was attended by 105 participants from 28 different countries. The group had the responsibility to elect a newinternational Board of Directors to serve for a term of five years. 

The works were conducted in a spirit of family and the program included, among other things, the presentation of national reports, conferences on the message of Fatima, workshops, moments of prayer and a pilgrimage to the sacred sites in Fatima and Lisbon. There was also time to reflect on the Synodal process of the Church, the 2023 World Youth Day in Lisbon and the Centenary of the Apparitions in Pontevedra, Spain, in year 2025.

Candlelight procession at the Brandenburg Gate

flyer 1webA special prayer event at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, Germany, with the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, will take place on October 12th, 2022, in thanksgiving for the peaceful German unification.

The Marian prayer group of Krefeld, Germany, together with the famous German writer and specialist of Fatima, Dr. Michael Hesemann, the World Apostolate of Fatima and many other prayer organizations are planning a special celebration at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, Germany, on October 12th, 2022.This prayer event is meant to be a thanksgiving to Our Lady of Fatima for the 33-year-jubilee of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the German unification, in the conviction that the German-European reunification is strongly due to the intervention of Our Lady of Fatima and the work carried out by Pope John Paul

General Assembly of the World Apostolate of Fatima

The World Apostolate of Fatima, in compliance with its international Statutes, is holding its General Assembly from the 23th to the 28th of October 2022, in Fatima, Portugal. This is a major event in the life of our association, every four years, gathering the representatives of our Apostolate from various countries.  

WAF IGA 2016Our last International General Assembly took place in year 2016, with more than 120 participants from 29 countries. In 2020, we had plans to meet again but with the Covid-19 outburst we were forced to change plans and postpone it. Now, despite all the uncertainties, the International Board of Trustees and the Secretariat have decided to hold the WAF General Assembly this year, having fixed the dates of October 23-28 for its realization in Domus Pacis, Fatima.

Korea and Germany united in prayer for peace

Inspired by the request made by the president of South Korea during a visit to Austria, for prayers for a peaceful reunification of Korea, the World Apostolate of Fatima of the diocese of Würzburg, in Germany  is promoting a Fatima prayer event for May 13th, 2022 both in South Korea as well as in Germany, with the intention to pray for peace in Korea, in Ukraine and in the whole world.

Feier im Aussenbereich 2During his visit of state to Austria, in 2021, former President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, also visited the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, where he stated that faith is the basis of his political action. He asked, above all, for prayers for the reconciliation and peaceful reunification of the peninsula of Korea. Responding to this appeal and as a thanksgiving gesture for the peaceful reunification of Germany in 1989/90
