Pope Francis has declared an Extraordinary Jubilee that has the mercy of God at its center. It is a Holy Year of Mercy which started on December 8th – the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, with the opening of the Holy Door at the Basilica of St. Peter, in Rome and will close on November 20^th, 2016. “It is indeed my wish that the Jubilee be a living experience of the closeness of the Father, whose tenderness is almost tangible, so that the faith of every believer may be strengthened and thus testimony to it be ever more effective” says Pope Francis.

The theme of mercy is deeply connected with the entire Message of Fatima. The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, brings the merciful heart of God to transform the misery of humanity and offer the loving experience of grace and pardon. International Marian Congress - October 18-21

The World Apostolate of Fatima,whose charisma is to evangelize the world by living and spreading the Message of Fatima, is organizing an International Marian Congressfor members of ecclesial movements and other people interested to learn more about Our Lady’s message and the work of evangelization. The event will take place at Domus Pacis, in Fatima, Portugal, from October 18-21, 2015. Prominent Fatima speakers and other personalities are being invited to address the congress whose main theme is “The Role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Work of Evangelization”.

The participants at the Third World Congress of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities, held in Rome last November, were received by Pope Francis on the last day, at the Clementine Hall, in Vatican.  The International President of the World Apostolate of Fatima, Prof. Américo Pablo Lopez Ortiz and the Director of the International Secretariat, Nuno Prazeres, were among the restrict group of people that greeted and spoke to the Holy Father.

This international congress organized by the Pontifical Council for the Laity from November 20 to 22, under the theme “The joy of the Gospel, a missionary joy”, was attended by 300 people, from 40 different countries representing nearly 100 ecclesial movements and new communities. It

On October 3, the World Apostolate of Fatima celebrated a worldwide international moment of prayer and Eucharistic adoration with children and youngsters. This was the 12^th edition of this event which is carried out every year on the first Friday of October. The purpose is to offer children and youngsters an opportunity for an intimate meeting with Jesus in the Eucharist and to pray for the Holy Father, the families and peace in the world.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, in Portugal joined this initiative and held in the afternoon of that day, in the Chapel of the Apparitions, a solemn Holy Hour of Eucharistic adoration and the recitation of the Rosary.
