A special prayer event at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, Germany, with the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, will take place on October 12^th, 2022, in thanksgiving for the peaceful German unification.

The Marian prayer group of Krefeld, Germany, together with the famous German writer and specialist of Fatima, Dr. Michael Hesemann, the World Apostolate of Fatima and many other prayer organizations are planning a special celebration at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, Germany, on October 12^th, 2022. This prayer event is meant to be a thanksgiving to Our Lady of Fatima for the 33-year-jubilee of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the German unification, in the conviction that the German-European reunification is strongly due to the intervention of Our Lady of Fatima and the work carried out by Pope John Paul II.

The Brandenburg Gate, Germany’s most famous national symbol, is a representation of its separation as well as of its reunification, Germany’s darkest and happiest hours. Here, St. John Paul II celebrated the reunification with a prayer of thanksgiving and gave an historic address to the German people.

The prayer event will start with a Pontifical Mass at the Spiritual Centre of St. Clement, which is located very close to the former German border and leaded by Indian priests from Kerala. It will then be followed by a candlelight procession through the Brandenburg Gate with the Pilgrim Virgin Statue from the World Apostolate of Fatima in Germany which was blessed by Pope Paul VI., in Fatima, on the 13^th of May 1967. At the end of the procession there will be the consecration of Germany to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The day's offerings will be used for building a Fatima Chapel near the Brandenburg Gate and to support the work of the Indian Fathers of St. Clemens.  Please find here more information.

Inspired by the request made by the president of South Korea during a visit to Austria, for prayers for a peaceful reunification of Korea, the World Apostolate of Fatima of the diocese of Würzburg, in Germany  is promoting a Fatima prayer event for May 13^th, 2022 both in South Korea as well as in Germany, with the intention to pray for peace in Korea, in Ukraine and in the whole world.

During his visit of state to Austria, in 2021, former President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, also visited the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, where he stated that faith is the basis of his political action. He asked, above all, for prayers for the reconciliation and peaceful reunification of the peninsula of Korea. Responding to this appeal and as a thanksgiving gesture for the peaceful reunification of Germany in 1989/90 and the end of the cold war, the diocesan division of the World Apostolate of Fatima in Würzburg, Germany, decided to organize a major prayer event on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima.

In collaboration with the World Apostolate of Fatima in South Korea and the International Secretariat, such event is scheduled to happen in South Korea and in Germany, on May 13^th, 2022. On this day, members of the Fatima Apostolate and other devotees will gather at the Shrine of Peace, at the border between North and South Korea, as well as in Würzburg, Germany, to pray to God and to Our Lady for the reunification of Korea, as well as for peace in Ukraine and in the whole world. May the example of Germany’s peaceful reunification inspire and give new hope to the Korean faithful to continue their fight for peace. 

A replica of the Chapel of the Apparitions of Fatima was built in the Philippines. The dedication and blessing of this chapel is on April 4, 2022, the anniversary of the departure to heaven of St. Francisco Marto, one of the seers of Fatima. The initiative comes from the World Apostolate of Fatima in the Philippines and is endorsed by the archdiocese of Cebu. The Chapel is located in the municipality of San Remigio and it is the first construction of its kind, in the country and throughout Asia.

The replica of the Fatima Chapel project was officially launched on February 20, 2020, feast of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, through the blessing of the first stone. With the supervision of the archdiocese of Cebu, in the person of its bishop Mons. José S. Palma, a foundation "Três Pastorinhos de Fátima" was also established to manage and monitor the whole process. Despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic, the new liturgical site is completed and ready to be inaugurated, coinciding with the Jubilee celebrations of 500 years of Christianity in that country.

The program of the blessing and dedication of the replica of the Fatima Capelinha, on April 4, includes, among other moments, the Eucharist with the rite of consecration of the altar, the enthronement of the Image of Our Lady of Fatima and the relics of the two shepherd’s saints, in the presence of numerous devotees from all over the country.

From Portugal, a delegation representing the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima and the International Secretariat of the World Apostolate of Fatima will participate in this solemn act.

The World Apostolate of Fatima considers that this replica of the Chapel of Fatima in the Philippines, as well as others that already exist in Brazil, in the United States of America and in Puerto Rico, will help strengthen the ties of the Filipino people with the Portuguese sanctuary and increase Marian devotion, particularly by living the spirituality of Fatima. These pilgrimage centres are authentic signs of the maternal presence of Our Lady and of God's mercy.

The Vatican Press office informed that Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, on March 25, in St. Peter’s Basilica, during the Celebration of Penance that he will preside over at 5:00 pm (Rome time). On the same day, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner, will carry out a similar act of consecration at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, as envoy of the Holy Father.

March 25 is a special date. Apart from being the feast of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, it was on this day, 38 years ago, that in 1984, Saint Pope John Paul II consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Earlier this month, Ukraine’s Latin Rite Catholic bishops and also the World Apostolate of Fatima International had petitioned Pope Francis to consecrate Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, precisely at the time when a terrible war is still going on in Europe, caused by the invasion and attack of the Russian army to Ukraine.

The Message of Fatima is a call for peace! When Our Lady appeared, in 1917, she told the three shepherd children: "God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace”. Our Lady had also asked for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, stating that if this request were not granted, Russia would spread "its errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church.” “The good," she added, "will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be destroyed."

As already indicated in the letter from the WAF International President, we are all invited to renew the 1984 Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on this March 25. Now, we shall do it also in union with the Holy Father and many Bishops around the world, who will consecrate Russia and Ukraine.

The true devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, through ongoing conversion, prayer, penance and reparation, entrusting oneself to God and Mary, will help saving the world and bring about peace!

The International President of the World Apostolate of Fatima, Prof. Américo López-Ortiz, has written a circular letter to all the leaders and members of the Apostolate of Fatima concerning the terrible invasion and attack of Russia to Ukraine. 

In his letter he underlines that such “critical situation must be confronted with the spiritual weapons we have to overcome evil” and that our movement has the duty “to illuminate the hearts of the faithful with the light of hope in the definitive triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary promised in Fatima.” He also wrote to the Holy Father proposing the renewal of the consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and, at the same time, to ask support for promoting the First Five Saturday’s devotion, as requested by Our Lady, to obtain peace for humanity.

Therefore, this coming March 25, we are all encouraged, individually or in community, to make the renewal of the Collegial Consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary; the one performed by St. John Paul II, in 1984, in Rome. The text of the Consecration is here.
